Bindra: Chautala's remarks do not deserve a reaction
IOA President Abhay Singh Chautala, took a dig at ace shooter Abhinav Bindra's father, who was arrested for financial irregularitites in 2009. Chautala said that if Bindra feels that 'chargesheeted people should be stripped of their positions, then he should first throw his father out or should leave the house himself.'
In response to Chautala's comment, Bindra said that the remarks made by the IOA president does not deserve a rebuttal. "To the media wanting a reaction out of me on Mr Chautala's statements, I have nothing to say as it doesn't deserve a reaction. Nothing will deter me and fellow athletes in our goal to clean indian sports nd take it fwd," Bindra tweeted.

Even the Sports Ministry has backed Bindra in a statement saying: "The Ministry reitrates that is considers international sports awardees as national heroes and has zero tolerance to attacks against sportspersons. The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports remains committed to furthering the cause of Indian sportsperson and sports in India."
Chautala's reaction comes after Bindra's campaign to throw out tainted officials from the IOA. Bindra has been backed by many other athletes and the Sports Ministry, who want a corruption free IOA, after the International Olympic Committee (IOC) banned the national sporting body after it elected Lalit Bhanot as the Secretary in the December elections. Bhanot had earlier served 11- months in jail on corruption charges.
This is what Bindra tweeted about the issue-
