Ban on NDTV India put on hold by government
Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on Thursday directed the news channel to go off-air from the midnight of November 8 to midnight of November 9
New Delhi, Nov 7: Amid protests across the country, Information and Broadcasting Ministry on Monday put a hold on the one-day ban on the Hindi channel of NDTV India, reports suggested.
The channel said that the I&B Ministry, headed by Venkaiah Naidu, had put the ban on hold.
Supreme Court is scheduled to hear NDTV's appeal on Tuesday against the government's one-day ban of NDTV India.
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on Thursday directed the news channel to go off-air from the midnight of November 8 to midnight of November 9 for allegedly breaching cable TV norms in its coverage of the January 2 terror attack on the Pathankot Indian Air Force base.
