New Delhi, Aug 17: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which has been pushing for fresh election in Delhi, is planning to intensify a campaign for mobilisation of funds for its donation inflow is drying up fast following the disastrous Lok Sabha election, according to a report published in the Hindu.

According to the report, the party, which once received several lakhs of rupees through online donation daily, is facing a tough time now as the cash flow now has gone down to a few thousands. On August 1, the party reveived Rs 10,043 through online donation, the report added.

The party, however, is not ready to concede. Sources in the AAP said the donation graph has gone down since the party nowadays doesn't ask for funds nowadays and has told its supporters to stop donating after its target of collecting Rs 20 crore was already fulfilled.

The party, however, has the Delhi assembly election in mind and is considering to launch a renewed campaign for mobilisation of funds in the next few weeks, sources in the party's fund-raising body said.

According to the Hindu report, the AAP amassed Rs 22 lakh from funds on May 16 but the amount was just over Rs 66,000 during the recent rally at the Jantar Mantar.

AAP said it has asked its supporters not to donate since its target was achieved

The AAP, which quit power in Delhi after 49 days after a splendid performance in the assembly polls last December under the leadership of activist-turned-politician Arvind Kejriwal, could manage just four seats in the 2014 general election.
