Looks like Aam Aadmi Party has run into a terrible string of luck. With Shazia Ilmi and Vinod Kumar Binny joining the BJP to star campaigners like Kumar Vishwas and Prashant Bhushan missing in action this time, AAP seems to be on a shaky ground.

Ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections, AAP has very few names to boast of unlike the 2013 Delhi Assembly elections, where the party had fielded well known names and had even garnered support from celebrities.

Is there a widening rift in the AAP?

Is there a widening rift in the AAP?

AAP leader Ashutosh was heckled today by his party volunteers. According to reports Ashutosh was addressing a gathering in Rohini when his own party volunteers cornered him and demanded answers over various issues.

Reports suggest that Ashutosh was helpless and finally had to escape by jumping four walls. However what is not clear is that why did he have to run from his own party workers?

Last year, Ilmi and Binny had left the AAP citing lack of democracy in the party. Ilmi and Binny had both alleged that the party was being run by just a few people and had lost its vision; that of being a people's party.

Many members of the AAP had left last year after they felt that the party had drifted from its vision. Though they did not blame the AAP directly for their exit, they said that they had a different vision when they had joined the party.

Key names missing from election campaign

Unlike the 2013 Delhi assembly election, key names like Kumar Vishwas and Prashant Bhushan are missing from this year's elections campaign.

While some raised the issue over Bhushan's absence, the lawyer said that he would not be campaigning for the AAP this assembly elections. Speaking to reporters outside a Delhi court on Sunday, Jan 18 Bhushan said that 'he couldn't be at all places campaigning for the AAP.'

Vishwas, who was seen actively campaigning for the AAP in the 2013 Delhi assembly elections was missing in action for a while. This year however though he has been seen with Kejriwal once or twice, his activity is not as agressive as it was earlier.

Will Kiran Bedi, Shazia Ilmi dent AAP's chances of winning

With Kiran Bedi and Shazia Ilmi being inducted in the BJP, the BJP has received a major boost in terms of woman power. While Imli has been vocal about her dissent with the AAP, Bedi can prove to be a huge positive to the BJP.

Former UPA minister Krishna Tirath too joined the BJP on Monday, Jan 19 much to the surprise of Congress leaders.
