Four people go missing after car falls into river in Ratnagiri district
Four people went missing after the car they were travelling in skidded off Mumbai-Goa highway and fell in Asavi river near Dhamani village in Ratnagiri district, Maharashtra on Wednesday.
The rescue operation by local police, coast guard and National Disaster Response Force is underway.
According to reports, the bodies of four missing people have not been recovered yet. But the driver jumped-off before the car fell into the river overflowing due to heavy rains in the district.
According to Skymet weather, in the last 24 hours, from 08:30 am on Tuesday, Akola recorded 38 mm of rains, Mahabaleshwar 34 mm, Ratnagiri 29 mm, Parbhani 22 mm, Nanded 22 mm, Washim 21 mm, Mumbai 19 mm, Jalgaon 16 mm, Wardha 14 mm, and Alibag recorded 13 mm of rains.
