Bengaluru, Aug 4: Karnataka police have found similarities between the low intensity explosion that rocked a court premise in Mysuru recently and explosions that took place in Kerala and Andhra Pradesh earlier.

Similarities have been found between the blasts that occurred in Chittoor of Andhra Pradesh in April, Kollam of Kerala in June and now in Mysuru, Director General of Police (Internal Security) Neelamani N Raju told a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah here today.

Mysuru blast

Briefing the Chief Minister, who returned to work after the death of his son last week, she said in all the three incidents pressure cookers were used and there was professionalism in the way the blasts had been carried out.

Sharing the details of the meeting attended by state Home Minister Parameshwara, Chief Secretary Arvind Jadhav and other senior officials, an official release said no organisation had claimed responsibility for the Mysuru blast so far.

On August 1, the blast inside the toilet of the Mysuru court premises had caused panic among lawyers and litigants, and had left at least two persons injured. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is also looking into the case.

Officials suspect that the intention of the blast was to create an atmosphere of terror. They said as the security was tight in Bengaluru, a city like Mysuru was chosen for carrying out the blast.

Neelamani also informed the Chief Minister that investigators were looking into all angles and efforts were on to solve the case at the earliest.
