Maharaja of Mysore Yaduveer to get married on June 27

Mysuru/ Bengaluru, April 26: 24-year-old Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja, the present titular Maharaja of Mysore and head of the former ruling Wadiyar dynasty is all set to tie the knot with his fiancée Thrishika Kumari, this year on June 27, Monday.

The much-awaited date was finalised on Monday, April 25, following a formal "lagna pathrika" ceremony that was held at the Chamundi Thotti of the Mysuru Palace.

The last royal wedding took place in 1976 when the late former maharaja Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar's married the present Queen mother Pramoda Devi.

Boston-educated Yaduveer was adopted by Pramoda Devi Wadiyar on February 23, 2015, and he was anointed as the titular head on May 28.

Thrishika is younger daughter of Yuvaraja of Dungarpur Harshvardhan Singh Bahadur and Maheshree Kumari. Thrishika's father hails from a prominent royal family in Rajasthan while her mother belongs to the royal family from Andhra Pradesh.

In May 2014, she attended the adoption ceremony of Yaduveer. Both of them got engaged in May 2013.

She is reported to be a close relative of the Union Minister for Civil Aviation Ashok Gajapathi Raju.
