It's raining money in Vrindavan! Thanks to a monkey

Vrindavan, July 20: In Vrindavan's Banke Bihari temple, worshipers were stunned, when it started raining money on Saturday, July 18.

A monkey snatched a bag from a woman and he started showering Rs 500 notes. Amazed people started collecting the notes.

Hemvati Sonkar, a 50-year-old woman from Borivali, Mumbai had visited the Banke Bihari temple and she was carrying Rs 1.5 lakh cash in it. [Pet monkey all set to become millionaire!]

Her mobile, worth Rs 30,000 was also kept inside the purse.

The incident took place around 2 pm near near the Vankhandi tri-section, when a huge monkey took away the purse from woman and he sat on a roof and started showering money. [Monkey business lucrative in Himachal, literally!]

One of the lucky man managed to collect Rs 3,000.

With heavy hearts, helpless woman and her family left Vrindavan.

The woman was on a trip with her husband and two daughters to Agra, Mathura and Vrindavan.

On Sunday, July 19, family was scheduled to return to Mumbai from New Delhi airport. [Mathura residents warn President Pranab Mukherjee of monkeys]

Over 10,000 monkeys reside in Vrindavan and adjoining areas like Gokkul, Barsana, Goverdhan, and Radha Kund.

Mathura MP Hema Malini had also reportedly written to the government asking for the sterilisation of monkeys.
