Motihari: Stir continues as faculty members complain to PMO about VC’s high-handedness

Motihari, Aug 21: The agitating faculty members of Mahatma Gandhi Central University (MGCU) in Bihar's Motihari wrote a letter to PMO alleging that vice-chancellor is trying to suppress the agitation by levelling false Dalit Atrocity Case against the faculty.

In a letter addressed to PMO, President, MHRD ministry, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, the association alleged that after the gruesome attack on Sanjay Kumar, one of the prime accused Dr Dinesh Vyas, a close aide of the VC, is involved in identity politics of shameful nature.

One of the members of the MGCU faculty association claimed that Dr Dinesh Vyas, whose SC certificate is also believed to be fake, is trying to wash off his involvement in the crime. Moreover, Dr. Vyas, before the current incident has never did complain in any forums regarding any humiliation. He submitted a letter to file FIR against Dr Dinesh Vyas regarding fake atrocity case but the local police neither registered case nor acknowledge the application.

In another serious charge against DR Vyas and Shailendra Singh Chauhan (PS Vice- Chancellor), the faculty, who did not wish to be named, said that a year ago both of them threatened him to leave the city. Then, Dr. Vyas didn't complain in any forum but using his Scheduled caste identity after the attack on Prof. Sanjay Kumar.

After BJP supporters attacked social activist Swami Agnivesh in New Delhi, Professor Sanjay Kumar. was thrashed by a mob allegedly for sharing an FB post critical of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. 'Some elements have been targeting me for speaking against the VC and this was another excuse,' Sanjay Kumar was quoted by news agency ANI as saying.
