'We lost him too soon': Mamata Banerjee's tribute to musician Kalika Prasad Bhattacharya
Kolkata, Mar 7: On the second death anniversary of renowned folk musician Kalika Prasad Bhattacharya, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today took to Twitter and said "We lost him too soon".
Bhattacharya died in a road accident near Gurap village in Hooghly district of West Bengal on March 7, 2017. He returning after a performance in Birbhum on that unfateful day.
"Fondly remembering Kalika Prasad Bhattacharya, exponent of folk music, on his death anniversary. We lost him too soon," Banerjee tweeted.

He had received 'Sangeet Samman' award from the state government in 2013 for his musical excellence. Bhattacharya was devoted towards the songs of rural Bengal. He promoted Bengali folk music and got worldwide acclamation.
He was also a recipient of 'Cultural Ambassador of North East Award' from Bytikram Group, Guwahati in 2013.
