Kolkata, Aug 28: It is a proud moment for Bengali writer Binayak Banerjee who has been selected for the prestigious International Writing Program (IWP) at University of Iowa. The writing program will be held from Aug 23 to November 11.

Banerjee said: "This is a great opportunity to share my works with contemporary writers from across the world, get a sense of what is influencing their writings and get inspired to move beyond set patterns and write out of the box."

Some of Banerjee's works include novels like 'Sohaginir Songe Ek Bochor', 'Sikandar' and 'Bhou'; poetry collections like 'Tumi Pran, Tumi Par', 'Riskhaw Noye To Rupkatha', 'Eksho Premer Kobita' and a play titled 'Rabindranath Public Limited'.
