Kochi, Nov 15: The Prince of Wales might not even have felt that he was practically thousands of kilometers away from home on this 65th birthday. That was the extent of a homely celebration that greeted him on his day.

Even in Kerala, Prince Charles was gifted a carved elephant by Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, and a cake that marked his 65th birthday.

To mark his becoming a pensioner, Princes Charles' staff ordered the cake from his luxury hotel in the southern port city of Kochi in the shape of a bus pass, granted to the over 65s in Britain to give them unlimited free travel.

The cake was finished off with the words Happy 65th Birthday.

Prince Charles wrapped up a nine-day trip to India on Thursday before heading to Sri Lanka to open a meeting of leaders on the Commonwealth.

OneIndia brings you the glimpses from the event.
