Kochi: 3 killed, 12 injured after fishing boat collides with ship
Kochi, Aug 7: Three people were killed and 12 others injured after a fishing boat rammed into a ship in the deep sea in Kochi on Tuesday. The fishing boat had set to the sea from a place called Munambam.
Superintendent of Police, said, "Coast Guard, Navy vessels and helicopters are on the lookout. They've launched a search, 2 bodies recovered. We have to search for survivors. We're yet to identify the 9 missing people."
Fifteen people are believed to be in the local fishing boat. Navy and coast guard have been deployed for the search operation.
Six people are been brought back to the shore by the fishermen who were present at the spot where the accident took place at 3 am in the deep sea.
Kerala Fisheries minister J Mercy Kutty Amma said an investigation is on to find the whereabouts of the ship and are also coordinating with the coast guard and navy team to rescue those who are missing.
