In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Shobha Karandlaje won from Udupi Chikmagalur Lok Sabha (MP) Seat with the margin of 349599 votes by defeating Pramod Madhwaraj of the Janata Dal (Secular).
