Video: When US President Barack Obama showed off his dance moves
Nairobi, July 27: US President Barack Obama, who is presently in Kenya, on Saturday, July 25, surprised everyone, with his impromptu dance, during the state dinner organised by Kenya's President Uhuru Kenyatta in the capital Nairobi.
The Kenyan pop group Sauti Sol posted the video on Instagram, with a caption, "And for those who doubted President @barackobama's step - the #LipalaDance #SuraYako is his new favorite Kenyan dance!"
The popular Kenyan band played one of their afro-pop hits 'Lipala', when Obama began grooving to the music.
"My grandmother, Mama Sarah, who told me I had to come back to Kenya. And when she says you should do something, generally you have to do it. My siblings are here, aunts, uncles. And so, tonight, I welcome all of them to a somewhat unusual Obama family reunion," Obama was quoted as saying.
However, this is not the first time when Obama showed off his dance moves. In October 2009, Obama grooved to salsa with the Latin pop star Thalia, during Fiesta Latina event at the White House. [Michelle unimpressed by Obama's salsa with Thaila]

"It is wonderful to be back in Kenya. I'm proud to be the first US president to visit Kenya, and obviously this is personal for me. My father came from these parts", Obama said on Saturday, July 25. [US President Obama says 'Africa is on the move']
Obama is linked to his Kenyan family via his father Barack senior, a pipe-smoking economist who Obama has admitted he "never truly" knew. He walked out when Obama was just two and died in a car crash in Nairobi in 1982, aged 46.
