New York, March 3: An Indian-origin woman was allegedly racially abused by an African-American in New York, while she was travelling by a commuter train.

In the video, it is clearly seen that the man was saying 'Freedom of Speech', 'Get out of here' and other expletives in a train full of commuters. The man is seen objecting to the recording as well. The incident took place on February 23.

Desai is said to have approached the police officials who claimed that the man was 'unstable'.

The incident comes days after an Indian engineer was shot in Kansas by a Navy veteran, in what is being termed as a 'hate crime.' The incident has sent shock waves across the Indian community living in the US.

Recently several incidents of hate crimes have been reported, following which the Trump administration has been urged to put a stop to all the violence.
