US truck driver trapped in tornado thought he is dead
Washington, Dec 29: A truck driver in US experience death like situation when caught in high speed winds of up to 200 miles per hour (322 kph), media reported.
Truck driver identified as 52-year-old Tucker was hit in tornado that hit Garland, northeast of Dallas, on Saturday.
He stopped his truck, put it into park and stared down the tornado.
"I heard this ‘boom, boom, boom' sound and then the truck started violently shaking," he said. "Then the truck was lifted off the ground and I remember thinking ‘I'm dead'."
After gaining consciousness he found himself lying on its side and his girlfriend in the passenger seat was dangling buckled into the seatbelt. Tucker and his companion had minor scrapes and bruises.

"It was a very violent tornado and extremely rare to see anywhere," Dennis Cavanaugh, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service was quoted as saying.
