Washington, May 25: Presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump on Tuesday bagged the Washington state primary, taking his tally to 1,209. It means he now needs just 28 of the required delegates to clinch the nomination. A Republican candidate has to have 1,237 delegates to get the nomination.

Trump won at least 40 of Washington's delegates while four more are yet to be decided, which means his tally will go even higher. [Bernie Sanders wants recounting of Kentucky result]

The US presidential primaries will witness their next Super Tuesday on June 7 when California, New Jersey, New Mexico, Montana and South Dakota will go to poll. One presumes it will be more than enough for Trump to seal the deal on that occasion. [Violence erupts at Trump's New Mexico rally]

Trump became the GOP's presumptive nominee in April with a decisive victory that saw his remaining two rivals---Ted Cruz and John Kasich---quitting the race and concluding months of talks about the potential of a contested convention.
