UN urges Pakistan, India to reduce tensions
United Nations, June18: The United Nations has urged Pakistan and India to take necessary steps to ease tensions between the two nations.
This was stated by UN Associate Spokesman Farhan Haq at a briefing in New York.
He said the United Nations continues to urge the two countries to try to resolve bilateral issues peacefully and amicably.
UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon hopes Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif "will continue to engage with each other" to try to resolve the Kashmir situation "peacefully and amicably".
