Afghan Taliban militants on Wednesday confirmed that they attacked police, military and intelligence targets in the Afghan capital of Kabul on Wednesday. At least one person was killed and 35 wounded in Taliban attacks, the ministry of public health said.

Second explosion reported in Kabul

A suicide car bomber struck an Afghan police headquarter in western Kabul and a gun battle ensued, the interior ministry said.

Minutes later a suicide bomber blew himself up while trying to enter the Afghan intelligence agency in eastern Kabul, the ministry added.

Last month, a suicide bomber killed at least 20 people outside the Supreme Court in Kabul. Militant group Islamic State claimed responsibility for that attack.
