Two arrested after explosives found at home in Paris
Gas canisters and electric wiring were also found in the flat near Villejuif, south of the French capital.
Paris, Sep 6: Two people were arrested after homemade explosives ready for use were found in an unoccupied flat near Paris on Thursday.
Gas canisters and electric wiring were also found in the flat near Villejuif, south of the French capital, and two men were arrested after a workman raised the alarm, the source said.
Anti-terror prosecutors have opened an investigation. Reports say that TATP explosives were found. TATP is a highly-unstable and easy-to-make bomb that has previously been used by terrorists across Europe in recent years.
Variants of TAPT were reportedly used in the Manchester Arena terror attack in May, Brussels in 2016 and Paris in 2015.
Authorities in France do not want to take any chances and they have evacuated The Eiffel Tower and the Eurostar terminal at the Gare du Nord.
