US President Donald Trump and North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un on Tuesday, June 12, signed a "comprehensive" document at the conclusion of their summit in Singapore.

US President Donald Trump and North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un on Tuesday, June 12, signed a “comprehensive” document at the conclusion of their summit in Singapore.

Kim aired optimism at the end of the talks saying "the world will see a major change". He admitted during the summit that there are challenges but nevertheless vowed to work with Trump - an individual he had a sour relation even six months ago.

Trump, on the other hand, said after signing the joint document that the denuclearisation process will start soon, China's People's Daily reported.

Though the content of the document was not known immediately, Trump said he would discuss it in details in a press conference.

The two leaders held the signed documents in their hands on the steps of the Capello Hotel where the summit took place. They had another round of handshake with Trump praising Kim as a "very talented man" and saying that they would hold meetings "many times".

Earlier, Trump and Kim seemed to have grown a rapport as they went to a post-lunch stroll around the hotel. Trump told the media that his meeting with Kim went great and it was "better than anybody could've expected".

At the extended bilateral meeting on Tuesday morning which took place soon after the two leaders' one-on-one meeting, Kim said the summit served as a "prelude to peace" to which the American president concurred.
