‘Tea that makes enemies friend’: Pak tea seller displays Abhinandan image to promote his product

|

Islamabad, March 13: Indians have rejoiced the return of Indian Air Force pilot Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman who got trapped in the Pakistani territory last month during a skirmish between the two countries' air forces in the wake of the terror attack in Pulwama that martyred over 40 CRPF personnel.

While there have been commercial initiatives in India to make use of the newly found brand "Abhinandan", even the Pakistanis decided to do something similar. Recently, a photograph of a Pakistani tea stall has gone viral for displaying a banner featuring an image of Varthaman sipping tea confidently.

An Urdu text accompanied the banner and it said: "Aisi chai ki dushman ko bhi dost banaye" ("Our tea so fine that it can make even a friend out of a foe").

The photo was shared by a Twitter user called Omar Farooq with the caption: "Somewhere at a Pakistani tea stall".

Varthaman was released by Pakistan after 60 hours of stay in that country amid growing tension between the two countries. His Mig-21 Bison crash-landed across the Line of Control while chasing a Pakistani F-16 jet after it tried to intrude in the Indian airspace on February 27, a day after the IAF conducted air strikes in Pakistan's Balakot area.
