Shooting in Baton Rouge: 3 cops dead, 3 injured

Washington, July 17: Three police officers were killed while three injured in a shooting that took place in Baton Rouge in Louisiana, the US media said.

The shooting was reportedly carried out by a single armed man carrying an assault rifle, the local media added. The killer was killed later.

Orlando Police tweeted that the shooting took place near the police headquarters. Television reports said the shot officials were "in extremely bad shape".

The reports also showed video footage of the police rushing to the scene in Baton Rouge. Multiple shots could be heard from the spot.

More than 100 protesters demonstrating against the police brutality were arrested in Baton Rouge last week.

Five police officers were killed while nine injured in an ambush in Dallas in Texas on July 7.
