New Delhi/Washington, July 25: Serena Williams has alleged to be the victim of "discrimination" against anti-doping authorities after being subjected to a random drugs test on Tuesday night.

Serena Williams alleges discrimination against anti-doping officials after drug test

The 23-time grand slam champion took to social media to protest about being singled out.

"And it's that time of the day to get 'randomly' drug tested and only test Serena," she said.
"Out of all the players it's been proven I'm the one getting tested the most. Discrimination? I think so. At least I'll be keeping the sport clean #StayPositive.

"But I'm ready to do whatever it takes to have a clean sport so bring it on. I'm excited."

A report by American website Deadspin claimed Williams had been drug tested more than any other player this year, despite missing large chunks of the season after giving birth 10 months ago.
She had been tested five times by June while other high profile stars like Sloane Stephens and Madison Keys had only been tested once in the same time frame.

Meanwhile the former head of Australian anti-doping and ex anti-corruption officer for tennis Richard Ings tweeted in response to Williams on Wednesday morning: "As an elite athlete over the age of 30, returning to competition after an extended absence from competition it is expected, no demanded, that additional testing occur. We trust. But we expect verification."
