Sanders asks Trump not to tweet after latter says he's "sold out" to Hillary

By Oneindia Staff Writer

Philadelphia, July 26: Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders had a war of words with Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump over Twitter on Tuesday (July 26) after the latter accused the former of "selling out" after he sought the Democratic Party to back Hillary Clinton at the national convention on Monday (July 25).

Sanders had given Hillary a close fight during the primary in this election year but eventually failed to derail her plan.

On Tuesday morning, Trump posted a tweet attacking Sanders saying: "Bernie Sanders totally sold out to Crooked Hillary Clinton. All of that work, energy and money, and nothing to show for it! Waste of time."

He also posted earlier: "Sad to watch Bernie Sanders abandon his revolution. We welcome all voters who want to fix our rigged system and bring back our jobs."

To this, Sanders just posted a two-word tweet saying "Never tweet".

Many said it was essentially an attempt to repeat the success Hillary had with her own response to Trump earlier this year when she had told the Republican "Delete your account".

Trump had also taken on other Democratic leaders like Elizabeth Warren and Cory Booker who spoke on the inaugural day of the Democratic convention, in a series of tweets.
