Alaska: Ice Age infants' bodies found
Juneau, Nov 12: Remains of two Ice Age infants have been found by researchers in Alaska. This discovery could prove vital for researchers in studying the burial practices of the time.

According to a report in Fox News, the remains date back about 11,500 years and were partly cremated. Bones of both the infants were well preserved.

Researches had discovered the remains 15 inches below last year in the same area and have said that one child was probably still born while the other died soon after birth. They even added that they appear to have died in summer though tests are still being conducted.

The site also had some salmon bones and stone spearheads were found near the bodies. Researches said that the children were of Native American origin.

Further tests including DNA analysis will be conducted on the bodies to determine the gender and whether the two infants were related or not. More digging needs to be done at the digging site, researchers have said.
