Referendum 2020 turns out to be a “big flop,’ gains no traction anywhere


London, Aug 13: The much spoken about Referendum 2020 was held in London and it turned out to be a damp squib.

The event took place at the Trafalgar Square in which a handful of people were seen issuing a London Declaration. They sought to seek the independence of Punjab from India. The event was organised by the Sikhs for Justice, which Indian agencies say has the backing of the ISI.

More importantly there was not even a whisper about this event back in Punjab. The event gained no traction whatsoever, officials told OneIndia.

As the event took place, several Indians took out a counter rally in London. The people part of this rally waved placards in which it was written Sikhs for a United India.

Earlier Punjab Chief Minister, Captain Amarinder Singh said, I am not at all worried about these fringe elements and their proposed rally. They have been at it for long and have been playing in the hands of the ISI, which has an open agenda to foment trouble in Punjab and India."

"Punjab Referendum 2020 is a campaign to liberate Punjab, currently occupied by India. The campaign aims to gauge the will of the Punjabi people with regards to re-establishing Punjab as a nation state."
