Pup-lover Vladimir Putin gets furry gift for birthday from Turkmen leader
Russian President Vladimir Putin who marked his 65th birthday on Oct 7 was presented a puppy as a birthday gift from the leader of Turkmenistan.
In the video, Putin is seen holding and kissing the dog, named Verny, or "Faithful" in Russian, during a meeting in Sochi, Russia.
His love for dogs
Russian president Vladimir Putin's love of dogs is known fact.He's the proud owner of a Labrador Retriever whose name is Koni. Putin takes Koni with him everywhere, even at important cabinet meetings with foreign leaders. He's frequently photographed petting, talking to and hugging other dogs around Russia.
Putin's birthday gift
Putin has a new addition to his furbaby family. On Wednesday, Turkmenistan President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov gave Putin a puppy as a gift for his 65th birthday. The puppy is a Central Asian Shepherd, a native breed that is also known as Alabai.
He is not the only one
Most American Presidents have had a least one dog, and many have had several.
