Photo of Dad 'breastfeeding' baby goes viral while mom recovers from C-section complications
Madison, July 4: A couple Wisconsin Maxamillian and April Neubauer just welcomed a baby girl into their lives. When the new born's mother, April was unable to breastfeed immediately after birth, Maxamillian stepped in to help by 'breastfeeding' his newborn child, and images have now gone viral on various social media.
Yes, you read it right.
April had an emergency C-section to deliver their daughter, Rosalia, in June. April had two seizures and had to undergo an emergency c-section.
The parents had planned to have immediate skin on skin contact with the baby as soon as she was born, but April was still recovering from the seizures and c-section, and she was unable to breastfeed the baby right away.
That's when nurses suggested that Maxamillian nurse the baby in her place, using a supplemental nursing system. He was fitted with a "suction cup fake nipple" with a tube that would feed Rosalia baby formula.
Later, the couple posted photos of him breastfeeding his baby, Rosalia, to Facebook on June 26 along with the caption "Eat your heart out!!" "This super rad nurse made a epically killer offer, and I was fortunate enough to slap on a suction cup fake nipple," Maximillian wrote.
His post has been shared nearly 30,000 times and gained widespread media attention.
Maximillian was happy to step in and be the first person to breast feed his daughter.
