Pakistan: Five killed, eight injured in a blast in Quetta
At least five people were killed and eight others injured in a blast in Sariab Road area of Quetta on Wednesday. Reports say that out of the five killed, three are policemen.
The police truck carrying 35 personnel was targeted by a huge bomb at Sibi Road off Sariab Road this morning. The blast was so powerful that the truck was left badly mangled and caused critical injuries to the security men.
Security officials reached the site and cordoned off the area. Rescue teams are transferring the injured to the nearby Civil Hospital where emergency has been declared.
The nature of the blast has not be ascertained as yet.
On August 13 this year, at least 15 people, including eight soldiers, were martyred when a military truck was targeted in Quetta.
Earlier in June, 14 people ─ including seven policemen ─ were killed in a powerful blast in Quetta's Gulistan Road area.
