Pakistan: Blast near polio centre in Quetta kills seven, leaves 10 injured
Islamabad, Jan 13: At least seven people most of them were police officials killed and 10 others injured in a blast in Pakistan's Quetta on Wednesday.
The explosion took place near a polio centre in Quetta's Satellite Town on the third day of a three-day anti-polio campaign which was launched in various districts of Balochistan on Monday, reported the Dawn online.
Polio workers have long been targeted in the country due to rumours that the polio immunisation drive is a front for espionage or a conspiracy to sterilise Muslims.
26 killed, 52 hurt in Pakistan suicide blast
Pakistan remains one of only two countries on the World Health Organisation's (WHO) list of polio-endemic countries.
