Pakistan: 9 killed in terror attack in Peshawar, all militants gunned down

A heavy contingent of police and army has reached the site while the university road has been closed for traffic.

At least nine people, including students, were killed after five burqa-clad Taliban militants men opened fire on Peshawar's Agricultural Training Institute opposite Islamia College University early Friday morning.

Also, over 32 people, including a police sub-inspector and a constable have been injured in the attack, according to The Express Tribune.

Three attackers, with their faces covered, entered the Directorate, located next to the University of Agriculture, and started firing. One terrorist with a suicide jacket has been neutralised, said the report. A heavy contingent of police and army has reached the site while the university road has been closed for traffic.

The attack comes on the day Pakistan is celebrating Eid-Milad-un-Nabi with religious zeal and fervour.

Salahuddin Mehsud, Inspector General of Khyber- Pakhtunkhwa, said timely action by police and the Army helped in reducing the number of deaths. A senior police official said all the terrorists were killed by security forces.
