Cleveland, July 18: In a unique protest, more than 100 women stripped and posed naked with mirrors here on the eve of the Republican Convention beginning Monday (July 18) to say that the GOP's presidential nominee-in-waiting Donald Trump is not fit to rule the country, the AFP reported. The protest was staged as a response to a photographer's call to blend art with politics, the report said.

"He is a loser," photographer Spencer Tunick told AFP after finishing the sunrise shoot in which 130 women participated. One hundred of these women will feature in the photograph which will be unveiled shortly before the general election on November 8 in which President Barack Obama's successor will be elected.

Trump has been one of the most controversial presidential candidates the United States has seen in the recent times and he has deeply polarised the country's polity through his divisive rhetorics. The New York business tycoon won an inharmonious primary race which ended last month despite alarm from his own party and the country at large.

The shooting installation took place near the convention venue and as the owner gave permission, the fact that public nudity is illegal in Cleveland could not stand much.

The photo art, entitled "Everything She Says Means Everything" saw women of all shapes, colors and sizes taking part and showing up mirrors toward the convention arena, said the AFP report.

Tunick's website said the mirrors reflected "the knowledge and wisdom of progressive women and the concept of 'Mother Nature'... onto the convention center, cityscape and horizon of Cleveland."

Tunick, who is reputed for taking startling images of nude people at times, told AFP that he thought it was his most political shoot ever, saying he deeply felt the need to take action.

A father of two daughters, the artist said he couldn't take the amount of hate talks against women and minorities that were emanating from the Republican Party and had to do something to take on the "idiotic thinking".

Tunick said just voting against Trump in the November election was not enough.
