He met Singapore's President Halimah Yakob and Prime Minister Lee Tsien Loong and spoke with the latter over strengthening India-Singapore relations and cooperating more on flagship projects.

They also held delegation-level talks that focussed on trade and investment, connectivity, innovation, technology and strategic cooperation.

Lee, who a month earlier, had praised India's rise as an economic power along with China, said the two countries' defence ties have become stronger and they have also signed an agreement on logistical cooperation. He said India and Singapore will also celebrate the 25th anniversary of the annual maritime bilateral exercise between them this year.

Modi also launched three Indian digital payment apps in Singapore and said the two countries will soon enter an 'Air Service Agreement' soon.
