Mother Teresa a bit more closer to Sainthood, Pope recognises a second miracle
Vatican City, Dec 18: Pope Francis has discovered another medical miracle performed by late Mother Teresa, taking the Nobel laureate a bit more closer to the Sainthood that is to be attributed to her next year.
According to the Catholic newspaper Avvenire, Mother Teresa, who is known for her work with the poor in Kolkata is expected to be officially canonised in Rome on September 4 as a part of pope's Jubilee year of mercy.
She had attained the first step toward Sainthood when she was beatified by Pope John Paul II in a fast tracked process in 2003. The ceremony was attended by 30,000 pilgrims.
A panel discovered the miraculous recovery of a Brazilian man suffering from multiple brain tumours under Mother Teresa. Popularly known as the "Saint of the Gutters", Mother dedicated her entire life toward the benefit of the poor and the downtrodden.
