Mexico: World's “heaviest” man Manuel Uribe dead at 48

Mexico City, May 28: World's former heaviest man, Manuel Uribe died at a hospital in Mexico on Monday.

In 2006, Uribe's name was registered in the Guinness Book of Records, when his weight was 560 kgs and he was given the title of "world's heaviest human being".

According to a report, Uribe was bed-ridden since 2002 as he was not able to walk or even move on his own. His weight was also reduced to 394 kgs.

Although the cause behind his death is yet to be ascertained but sources said that he was suffering from "abnormal heartbeat", besides having liver ailments.

His mother and friends used to feed him and clean him.

48-year-old Uribe, who got married to Claudia Solis in 2008, was admitted to hospital on May 2nd this year.
