Washington, Feb 16: US President Donald Trump never ceases to surprise us. The maverick leader on Friday, February 15, activated national emergency along the southern border with Mexico to build his much-awaited wall that he had promised in the electoral campaign during the 2016 presidential election.

The decision is bound to have some repercussions as experts have called it something that would spark off a constitutional crisis.

However, that is something for the serious taskmasters to dwell upon. Trump, meanwhile, is proud about what he does and has remarked that the border wall between the two nations will be more difficult to climb than Mount Everest, the highest mountain in the world with a height of 8,848 metres or 29,029 feet.

The wall that Trump is eyeing in place to protect America from illegal immigrants will reportedly be 30 feet high, almost 29,000 feet less than Mount Everest, scaling which is a major challenge that even the best of climbers find strenuous to meet.

Trump, who was speaking at the Major County Sheriffs and Major Cities Chiefs Association, said the wall is "very, very on its way".

"We're building as we speak in the most desperately needed areas."

"It's a big wall. It's a strong wall, and it's a wall that people aren't going through very easy. They're gonna have to be in extremely good shape to get over this one. They would be able to climb Mount Everest a lot easier, I think."

The US media though said that no new wall was being constructed even as Trump claimed so.

The US saw a partial government shutdown for over a month in December-January as Trump and the Congress locked horns over the building of the wall that the latter refused to fund.
