Interpol issues Red Notices against former FIFA officials
London, June 3: Red Notices also known as international wanted persons alerts have been issued against former FIFA officials, media reported on Wednesday.
Red Notices against Jack Warner and Nicolas Leoz were issued by the international police at the request of US, The Independent reported.
A statement said: "At the request of US authorities, Interpol Red Notices - or international wanted persons alerts - have been issued for two former Fifa officials and four corporate executives for charges including racketeering conspiracy and corruption."
Red Notices are used by Interpol to inform member nations that an arrest warrant has been issued for an individual - in this case by the US Department of Justice - and "seeks the location and arrest of wanted persons with a view to extradition or similar lawful action".
