London, June 19: Indian origin British MP Keith Vaz has been re-elected as chairman of Home Affairs Select Committee (HASC), media reported.

The Sunday Times had accused Vaz of using his public position, as the chair of the HASC, to allegedly pressurise the immigration authorities to facilitate the travel papers for the IPL founder Lalit Modi.

Keith Vaz, born to Goan parents, holds the credit of being longest serving Asian MP in Britain.
