Days after India and Pakistan decided to observe their 2003 ceasefire agreement which was also welcomed by China, Pakistan alleged that New Delhi took a more "aggressive" stand vis-à-vis Islamabad after the election of Narendra Modi as its prime minister in 2014.

India became more aggressive under Modi, says Pak’s outgoing foreign minister

According to a PTI report, Pakistan's outgoing foreign minister Khurran Dastagir Khan said on Thursday, May 31, that India, following the election of Modi, started issuing "aggressive statements and postures against Pakistan".

He also reportedly accused India of escalating ceasefire violations at the LoC (Line of Control) and the Working Boundary and reiterated that Pakistan's support for the Kashmiri people will continue.

On Tuesday, May 29, the director generals of military operations of India and Pakistan decided to fully implement the ceasefire understanding of 2003 to improve the situation along the LoC and Working Boundary.

Khan, whose Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government completed its five-year term on Thursday as Pakistan went under a caretaker government to prepare for the next general elections on July 25, also accused India of disrespecting the Indus Water Treaty and that the progress of the regional grouping of Saarc was obstructed, PTI reported.

Khan also alleged that the arrest and confession of Indian prisoner Kulbhushan Jadhav proved "India's reprehensible designs to subvert Pakistan", it added.

He also claimed that India rejected Pakistan's "future oriented approach".

"In return, we have received negativity and aggression from India, with no dialogue at any level. We really hope that the new governments in both Pakistan and India are able to instill a fresh impetus in the relations between both the countries," the PTI quoted him as saying.

Khan was talking to the media on the five-year performance report of the PML-N government.
