Who was Srinivas Kuchibhotla?
Srinivas Kuchibhotla was shot dead at a bar on February 22 by a white US Navy veteran who reportedly yelled "get out of my country." He was working with the Kansas office of navigation device maker Garmin International since 2014.
March outside the conference centre
Marchers held pictures, banners and shouted 'We want peace', 'We love peace', 'Let us not leave our children', 'Unity is part of community, together we stand, divided we fall' and 'Hate + guns tragedy'.
Candlelight vigil against the hate crime
Many carried candles and signs reading, "We don`t support politics of hate." Clergypeople representing Hinduism, Christianity, Islam, Sikhism and Judaism held peace prayers.
GoFundMe campaign for Kuchibhotla’s family
The victim's family received tremendous support from across the world. GoFundMe had raised over $1 million in donation to help them with medical expenses.
