The order was passed following intelligence inputs that terrorists would attempt to smuggle explosives in electronic gadgets. The 10 countries are Egypt, Turkey, Kuwait, Qatar, Morocco, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

India has not got any official communication on this order. Although the order does not apply to Indian airports, it would still impact Indians transiting through the above-mentioned airports.

India is yet to issue any advisory in this regard. However, the order would be applicable to Indians who are making a transit through these nations. Effectively, it would mean that those Indians making a transit through these airpots will have to bring cameras, laptops and tablets in their checked baggage.
