Hollande affair: 'Shocked' France First Lady discharged from hospital
Soon after the scandalous report, Hollande's partner Valerie had to be admitted to the Pitie Salpetriere hospital due to depression and extreme fatigue.
On Sunday, Valerie was discharged from the hospital after almost a week and she reportedly headed for the presidential palace at La Lanterne in Versailles.
Valerie Trierweiler had no intention of committing suicide, a report said.
Trierweiler tweeted 'Thanks" in French for all those who had wished her sooner recovery via messages.
Valerie Trierweiler wanted to commit suicide?
Some reports said that Trierweiler was reportedly admitted to hospital on January 9 after she took "a pill too many."
However, according to a Le Pointmagazine news report, Trierweiler had no intention of committing suicide.
According to local media reports, Trierweiler suffered from nervous exhaustion and low blood pressure.
The reports further add that Hollande didn't visit her in the hospital, adding to the speculations whether she was still the first lady.
Earlier this week, she reportedly told her friends that she is ready to forgive Hollande for having a secret affair with Julie Gayet, a 41-year old actress, but only if she receives "clarification" about his intentions.
"She seems prepared to forgive (him), she doesn't want to slam the door on a whim," a 'close friend' told the French capital's daily.
"But she wants to know very quickly what François Hollande's intentions are."
48-year-old Valerie Trierweiler is a journalist and an unmarried mother-of-three for whom Hollande left fellow Socialist politician Segolene Royal in 2005, the mother of his four children.
French magazine Closer had published a sensational "seven-page illustrated account of the alleged affair of the 59-year-old President with the 41-year-old actress".
