Google Doodle lauds NASA’s discovery of seven exoplanets

Google has dedicated a doodle to the discovery of the seven exoplanets beyond our solar system by NASA. The doodle shows a telescope looking out towards space from the earth with the moon by its side.
Most times, Google Doodles are planned in advance as they are used to celebrate anniversaries and other important occasions. Thursday's doodle, however, is to commemorate NASA's huge discovery.
The planets discovered by NASA are revolving around a small, cold star named Trappist-1. NASA scientists who have discovered it call it as one of the biggest announcement made by them till date.
Scientists have said that they need to figure out if the new planet system which is located less than 40 lights years away from the Milky Way, our galaxy, has hospitable environment that can support life. The new planet system is located in the constellation Aquarius.
NASA scientists have said that Trappist-1 is roughly the size of Jupiter and is almost 20 times dimmer than the Sun. Three of the seven planets scientists say were in hospitable condition and could be supporting life.
Many telescopes are trying to check on Trappist-1 though light of the star is too dim. If the faint star is not spotted by telescope one can always look at the interactive model of the new planet system on NASA website.
