French senator Serge Dassault questioned for vote buying
Dassault, who is France's fourth richest man requested that his Parliamentary immunity be lifted so that he could defend himself against the vote buying allegations and could prove that he did nothing wrong.
Allegations suggest that Dassault bought votes and his aides allocated flats to people who agreed to vote for him in three mayoral elections in 2008, 2009 and 2010. The elections were won either by Dassault or his successor and close aide Jean Pierre Bechter.
Bechter was charged last month.
Investigators say that huge some of money may have been exchanged between France and Lebanon.
