Ex-Pak prez demanded Kashmir from the US in 1962, claims ex-CIA official

Islamabad, Oct 16: A former Central Investigation Agency (CIA) has claimed that Ayub Khan, the former president of Pakistan had demanded Kashmir from the US in return for not attacking India during 1962 China-India war.

Ex-CIA official Bruce Riedel in his new book 'JFK's Forgotten Crisis: Tibet, the CIA and the Sino-Indian war' has revealed the truth.

According to the book, Pakistan was in best position to attack India in 1962 and the Indian army would have been reduced to splinters in the two sided attack by Pakistan and China.

The book has claimed that John F Kennedy, the then US president and then UK premier Harold Macmillan mounted pressure on Pakistan to prevent attack on India.

They said that Pakistan too would be declared an invader like China if it attacks India, claimed Riedel in his book.
