Donald Trump to meet Kim Jong-un: Date, Location, Time
US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un begin will their historic summit at 9 am (6.30IST) on Tuesday with a handshake between Trump and Kim, an image sure to be devoured around the world.
According to a report, after a handshake scheduled for 9 am at the exclusive Capella Hotel in Sentosa Island tomorrow, the two world leaders will first meet one on one with translators in a session that could last up to two hours before they open the meeting to their respective advisers.
When is the meeting?
Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un are supposed to meet on Tuesday, June 12, at the Capella Hotel in Singapore.
Singapore is one of the few countries which shares cordial relations with both United States and North Korea. The other few options were China, South Korea and Russia, although the latter would have been a long shot, what with the US imposing sanctions on trade with Moscow.
Singapore to spend about 20 million dollars
Singapore will spend about 20 million dollars to host the historic summit between US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un on Tuesday, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong revealed on Sunday.
Where are they staying?
Trump and Kim arrived in Singapore on Sunday, both staying at luxurious and heavily guarded hotels less than half a mile apart, with Trump at the Shangri-La Hotel and Kim at the St. Regis Hotel.
Trump to leave Singapore on Tuesday
The White House has said that Trump will depart Singapore for the US on Tuesday evening at around 8pm 12:00GMT.
Trump, Kim Singapore meeting attracts 3,000 journalists
The strong personalities of US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un have drawn some 3,000 international journalists for their first-ever historic meeting to be held in Singapore tomorrow.
It is the largest journalist gathering ever seen in an Asian event, surpassing the April summit between the two Koreas.
