US President Donald Trump on Saturday, April 28, lashed out at Opposition Democrats as well as the media with which he shares a hostile relation and boasted about his achievements in office at an event in Michigan.

Trump addressed the campaign-style rally when journalists assembled in Washington DC to attend the White House correspondents' dinner which the president skipped for the second year in a row. He also took a dig at that gathering saying he was invited "to another event" but he would prefer to be not there.

Trump blasts Democratic senators

The Republican president, during the event which lasted over an hour, slammed Democratic senators Jon Tester and Debbie Stabenow, the latter being the local one, who are seeing re-election in 2018.

Trump has expressed his frustration against Tester, the senator from Montana, recently over his resistance to the nomination of White House doctor Ronny Jackson to the post of secretary of Veterans Affairs which led to Jackson withdrawing his name.

Trump even cursed Tester saying he would not succeed in his re-election bid this November. He also sought Tester's resignation for raising "false" accusations against Jackson.

On Stabenow, Trump said she was an impediment and also blamed the Montana voters for repeatedly electing her since 2000. He accused Stabenow of allowing people to enter into the US.

'Elect more Republicans'

Trump asked the people to elect more number of Republicans to protect America's cities; defend its border; grow its economy and make the country great again - a slogan he has been stressing upon since the days of his presidential campaign.

He also said the exact opposite about the Democrats and sought that "Nancy Pelosi and her gang...got to be voted out of office." Pelosi, 78, is the Minority Leader in the US House of Representatives.

'Kim meeting in three-four weeks'

Trump also touched upon his 'foreign policy success' during the rally saying his meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un was just three or four weeks away.

On 'collusion' with Russia

Trump also spoke about the allegations that his 2016 presidential campaign had a collusion with Russia, reiterating he had a tough stance on Russia and counter alleged that it was the Democrats who were in collusion with Moscow.

On James Comey

He also did not spare former Federal Bureau of Investigation chief James Comey who he fired in May 2017 and is having a serious personality clash since then, saying the latter's way of telling lies was incredible.
