Bizarre: 44-year-old 'dead foetus' found inside Brazilian woman

Brasília, Feb 18: In a

and shocking incident, a 44-year-old foetus was discovered inside the stomach of 84-year-old woman in Natividade, Tocantins state in Brazil, last Friday.

According to Daily Mail report, the woman, who is a pensioner, was pregnant 44-years-ago and during her 28th week of pregnancy, she sought help from 'witch' doctor, as there were no proper doctors in her village at that time.

The doctor prescribed her medicines and she thought the baby had been aborted because it had stopped moving and growing.

Doctors who conducted an X-ray on her, were stunned to find 20-28 week-old 'stone baby' inside.

Woman is now refusing to have stone baby or 'lithopedion' removed.

Gynaecologist Gesneria Saraiva Kratka said, "We saw the foetus with X-rays. It was possible to see the face, the bones of the arms, of the legs, the ribs and the spine."

'It's supernatural, but she has not had any complications,' she added.

Despite severe stomach pain and complications, woman is now refusing to have stone baby or 'lithopedion' removed.

Such rare cases have been reported earlier too in 2009 and 2013.
